The most exciting part of the day will be the flash mob of the Cupid Shuffle by none other than the artist "Cupid" performing live on stage for New London’s largest outdoor group dance!
The idea is to gather as many people as possible to perform this easy to learn line dance, the Cupid Shuffle. We are asking for your help to spread the word and to form your own group. It’s as easy as 1, 2, and 3. All you have to do is:
- Get a group together. It can be as small or large as you want it to be.
- Practice the Cupid Shuffle with your group at your own leisure.
- Be on the Parade Plaza with your group at 1:00 pm to perform.
You can make your team stand out by incorporating team colors, uniforms, hats, etc. Or just come as you are! Everyone that participates will be given a free button that reads “I did the Cupid Shuffle with Cupid at Sailfest 2011”. We encourage you to send us a video of your team practicing the dance and you may be chosen as the video of the week on Sailfest.org.
THIS IS NOT A COMPETITION, it’s just all out fun! However, we do have a goal to make this thing go viral. We will be having different stations set up to video recording this dance and to put it on You Tube and make Sailfest 2011 the largest outdoor Cupid Shuffle ever!
